In flashbacks, the family joins a space cult that promises salvation on Jupiter. As the past illuminates their struggles, their teenage daughter is forced to choose between following her parents into a cult or forging her own path on Earth. Jupiter Remake (2019). "Jupiter" is a beautifully made film that manages to take us inside the inner world of a teenage girl who not only faces the challenges of insecurity but also the trials of her disabled younger brother and his parents' descends into madness. It’s a dizzying landscape and space that borders on science fiction, even psychological horror. In the discussion after the film, I realized that the first comment was sympathy for the parents. I had to answer that in the madness and horror of the world, children are tragically and inexplicably neglected. I have even noticed that many adults are beyond help. The director insisted that they need to be reintegrated into a “good democratic society” and that they are not even aware of their horrible actions (they have good intentions). Despite this, his film feels detached from the vulnerability of adults in dire straits, but as an ode to the vulnerability of children.P. S.
